CAPTAIN dave matthews -SCUBA BIO

Dave has been in love with the world underwater ever since he snorkeled off Cozumel in the 1970’s.

“My first Scuba experience was one of those resort courses at the Club Med in Mexico and in a 40 minute dive we saw Dolphins and a Whale Shark…. And I was hooked.”

A certified diver since 1992, Dave’s diving experiences have taken him from the Cenotes of Mexico to the Andrea Doria and from Bonaire to the Bahamas.

Dave is certified in mixed gas diving to 300’, underwater photography, Ice diving, Nitrox, and extended range diving. He holds certification in CPR from the American Red Cross and is a DAN certified Oxygen provider.

Dave is a long time friend and student of Captain Nick and begins his third season as a crew member of the Ol’ Salty II this year. “We have some great wrecks and fantastic history sitting on the bottom of our ocean and it my pleasure to share it with anyone who loves diving as much as I do.”
